It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (November 25): 11/25/19

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Hosted by Kathryn of Book Date.

It's been a long week but now the kids and my husband have the week off for Thanksgiving. On Wednesday my in-laws are coming to visit.

Two matilija poppies
"Outside Wakamatsu": Acrylic painting showing a pair of matilija poppies which are growing in the parking lot of a local sushi restaurant. I completed this project in four hours.

A mourning dove in a plum tree
I finished the Mourning Dove painting after four hours.

Pulled pork sandwich: wip
I'm two hours into a pulled pork sandwich painting, inspired by another of my Inktober drawings.

Great egret: wip
I've also started a painting of a great egret. I'm an hour in which I used to prime the canvas and to sketch the basic outlines.

Three PG&E trucks
Our neighborhood is getting new electrical poles. PG&E was working outside our local grocery store and elementary school.

We're finally expecting rain. I honestly don't care that the holiday will probably be wet. We need it.

And I've finished Nanowrimo for this year, although I still have more I want to write.

What I read:

  • BLAME! Master Edition 1 by Tsutomu Nihei, 弐瓶 勉, Melissa Tanaka (Translator)
  • Milo's World Book One: The Land Under the Lake by Richard Marazano and Christophe Ferreira
  • The Deep by Rivers Solomon
  • Billionaire Blend by Cleo Coyle
  • Now Entering Addamsville by Francesca Zappia
  • It Devours! by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor

What I'm reading:

  • Hotel Dare by Terry Blas and Claudia Aguirre (illustrations)
  • The Patchwork Girl of Oz by L. Frank Baum
  • One Night in Georgia by Celeste O. Norfleet
  • Blanca & Roja by Anna-Marie McLemore

Up Soon:

  • The Ghost in Apartment 2R by Denis Markell
  • Captive Hearts of Oz Volume 2 by Ryo Maruya
  • Everything Inside by Edwidge Danticat
  • Delicious in Dungeon, Volume 4 by Ryoko Kui

Deb Nance at Readerbuzz

I finished a painting this week during a painting day with my g-daughter and d-i-l. I'm very happy with it.

Congratulations on finishing NaNoWriMo. I decided to skip it this year. Maybe next year.

I wonder which of your books was your favorite read.

Have a good week.

How nice that you got a chance to paint. Nanowrimo was fun but I'm glad to be done with it early. I haven't decided what my favorite book for the year was. My favorite book for last week was The Deep by Rivers Solomon.
