It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (April 30): 04/30/18

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (April 30)
Hosted by Kathryn of Book Date.

It's the last Monday of April. I've read 29 books, so a book a day on average for the month. As the year progresses, I'm focusing more and more on newly published books. I have a bunch of books I've purchased in the last two months that I want to read. I have, so far, read thirty-one newly published books. That accounts for a quarter of all the books I've read so far.

This weekend I think most movie goers were seeing a certain Avengers film. We, however, went to a re-screening of Labyrinth.

What I read:

Cross-Country Cat Tenements, Towers & Trash Jumanji Paper Girls Volume 4 Meet Me at the Cupcake Café Cave of Bones Tyler Johnson was here

  • Cross-Country Cat by Mary Calhoun & Erick Ingraham (Illustrations); library book
  • Tenements, Towers & Trash: An Unconventional Illustrated History of New York City by Julia Wertz; library book
  • Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg; library book
  • Paper Girls Volume 4 by Brian K. Vaughan; personal collection
  • Meet Me at the Cupcake Café by Jenny Colgan; personal collection (audio)
  • Cave of Bones by Anne Hillerman; personal collection
  • Tyler Johnson Was Here by Jay Coles; personal collection

What I'm reading:

Clockwork Boys The River at Night Don't Cry for Me, Hot Pastrami The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

  • Clockwork Boys by T. Kingfisher (Ursula Vernon); personal collection (ebook)
  • The River at Night by Erica Ferencik
  • Don't Cry for Me, Hot Pastrami by Sharon Kahn
  • The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum; personal collection / research

Up Next:

Dear Mrs Bird Spy on History: Victor Dowd and the World War II Ghost Army Depth A Friendly Town That's Almost Always by the Ocean

I'm finishing an arc at the moment, but in the past week, apart from another arc, the other books read where ones downloaded to my Kindle that have been sat there for a while. Have a great week.

Cross Country Cat looks cute, and Title Wave looks like a fun cozy! Paper Girls too... sigh I still haven't gotten to those.

Cross Country Cat is an older picture and the start of a series about a Siamese cat and his adventures with his human family. The entire series remains popular.

You had a great month in April. I didn't do nearly as well. I'm hoping May will be better. I love the covers of your books. Everything, especially the ones with cats, look great. Enjoy and have a great week!

I have been seeing the Mrs Bird book around a lot. The Clockwork Boys looks good too. Enjoy all your books and have a great week.

My copy of Dear Mrs. Bird only arrived last night. I thought I had bought it ages ago and then realized I hadn't. The Clockwork Boys is a typical fantasy adventure story with steampunk elements.
