An Age of License: A Travelogue: 03/22/18
An Age of License: A Travelogue by Lucy Knisley is a graphic novel memoir that covers her solo trip through Europe. It was part book tour and part journey to catch up with kith and kin. Events covered in this book come just before Something New. The title comes from the French concept of l'age de license and she spends much of the book on and off contemplating what it means and how it applies to her life. The trip came at a time where she didn't know where she was going. She was between relationships. The book has a similar outline as Displacement but it lacks the emotional focus. But the format that I love about her books is there, just in a rougher form. Four stars Comments (0) |
