It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (June 26)
Hosted by Kathryn of Book Date.

This is our last week in the home we've lived in for thirteen years. It's the longest I've lived anywhere. As I've been literally working full time with the move and my husband took a week off work to help to, there are no photos to share.

The only other excitement is that Saturday was our 22nd wedding anniversary. We did go out to dinner to celebrate but otherwise it was a full day of packing and cleaning.

Some fun reads. All the best for the move, always a big task.

We're at the point where the house looks like complete and utter chaos. I'm so done with packing out this house.

Looks like you managed to get some good reading in despite all the hard work of packing up a house. Hope when you move out of the apartment you'll be settled for another 13 or more years.

Pussreboots

I'm hoping it's longer than 13 years. I'd really like it be a place that we can settle into.

Happy 22nd Anniversary! And I lived in my last house for 13 years, my longest in adulthood too. Already I've been in this condo for ten years.

Enjoy your reading...and may your move go smoothly.

Regardless of how the move goes, we'll be in our new apartment. We'll have a week after we move in to get the rest of the crap out before the painting and carpeting happens. I'm just worn out. I've been working on this move for two months now.

I think we finally have all the cleaning and little fix-ups done at our house. It should go on the market today. It will be nice to check that item off my list. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

In a month, hopefully we will be where you are in your move.

I worked with the author of the original Nancy Drew books, Millie Benson, who wrote the first 26 or so of the books and created the character, Nancy, who was a bit advanced and independent for her time.

I just keep having to focus on the ultimate goal — which is a larger home that is set up just the way we want it — something we were never quite able to do with this place.

Happy Anniversary!

Good luck with your move! I am sure it is super exciting but I am sure it will also be a relief to be done with it for a while.

By the end of the month we should be able to put our place on the market. Once it sells we can start the fun part — looking for a new place that better suits our current needs.

Triangle is adorable. You can almost sing it to the tune of Horse with No Name.

Happy Monday! and happy anniversary too! Hope the move goes well, it can be tough to leave a place where you've spent so much of your life.

Looks like some fun reads! Nice to see Nancy Drew still going...

It's time to move but we're all feeling a little nostalgic for the place. Our realtor originally predicted that we'd move in five years of taking the place. She was only off by eight years. 😊

I like the Nancy Drew Diaries — they're a good update on the series.

You didn't say...are you moving across town or to a new town? I hope everything goes well.

Comment #24: Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 23:17:00

That's a tricky one to answer. The easiest way to answer is to say that we're moving locally. We're moving only about four miles away and to the next zip code over. To anyone unfamiliar with the area, it will appear that we're moving only a few blocks within town. Our address won't be all the different and our location will still be in the "Hayward hills." But Hayward is made up of a city (into which we're moving) and various unincorporated areas (one of which we currently live in) that use "Hayward" as the city name even though they aren't in the city — this was a post office decision to keep things simple.

Happy wedding anniversary! My hubby and I celebrated 25 years in May. I see you're reading Shopaholic and Sister next. I read it years ago and enjoyed it.

Wow, that's an ecclectic mix of books you've been reading!

I'm currently in the process of selling my house to move in with my boyfriend, so I know how stressful it can be.

Thanks. The worst of the move will be over this weekend. The Shopaholic books are good for unwinding too.

I've been meaning to look for Paper Girls at the library. How did you like it?

I'm enjoying Paper Girls. I just picked up volume 2 at the library. It's not what I expected — which I will address in the review — but it's still excellent.

Ugh on the packing and moving. We moved and downsized about 3 years ago. That's when I realized how many books and other 'stuff' we had collected over the years. I hope all goes well with the move and happy anniversary!

Happy anniversary! Yesterday was our 39th!

Good luck with your move. My husband and I have decided we are never moving. He has rocks and I have books. How could we ever move?

Happy belated anniversary. We thought we were never moving either but in the last year or so the home has just been too small for us.
